In certain portions of the world 2-stroke scoots are still being produced and ridden. The guys over at Motorcycle News just got their hands on the new Peugeot Speedfight 3 50cc scooter and wrote up a nice review.
“MCN has ridden the Speedfight 3 – this is our verdict: The bigger 13” wheels make it feel more planted, the new 34mm forks are an instant improvement and the new, radially-mounted front brake is stonking. Both Euro 3 compliant two-stroke engines also felt fairly nippy, although I preferred the liquid-cooled version. It sounded sweet and revved a further 500rpm over its air-cooled stable mate – essential extra power on a 50!”
With options for a sound system, liquid cooled engine, front and rear disc brakes and rear remote gas shock this thing has some real potential for a cool little street ripper.
Too bad we’ll never see it here in the states…
